W107 SL 280 seat belts

hello all,
I am searching for a new set of seat belts and buckles for my SL (W107). The inertia reels are catching and sometimes will not retract at all. The belts are black and very tied. MB Spares can source some from Germany at great expense. Can anyone point me in the right direction please.

Hi Terquel, I'd assume that you would only need front ones. I am confident I can help you. Please give me a couple of days at the outside - that's if you're interested in buying from me. I suspect NEW from Germany would mean trading your arms and one leg. Regards Styria

Genuine ones should not set you back more than about $485.00 a pair. I doubt you would find them genuine for less than that. SLC ones will not work. Make sure you get ones that work properly in your SL, that is one piece of kit that you don't want to fail.

Hi Terquel, in a direct way, Fotografa (an expert on 107s) has been able to confirm that the items I would have on hand WILL NOT fit your SL. Used is going to be difficult as not many SLs find their way to the wreckers - if you so wish I could make further enquiries through my contacts, or you could even approach Fotografa. He has quoted a price of not less than $485.00 genuine - how does that compare with other sources ? I'd be most interested to know. Regards Styria

thanks for your feed back Styria and Fotografa, Your price mentioned is quite good if we are talking about 2 front, Black with seat side buckles. I am happy to buy of you if you can source new ones

I may know a bloke that has some second hand ones, let me ask and get back to you. I priced a set for a bloke in Sydney a couple of months back, and at the time we tried some SLC ones I had sitting around, hence why i know they don't fit. From memory i think MB here wanted ~$400 each. I'll also need to check and see if they include the buckles as well. Will check and let you know.
