Mercedes 280SE 1974 Vin: 1160242205413. Engine Number: 11098322017714.
I am regretfully offering this car for sale. In good condition have spent over $3000.00 on it over the last two years.
New windscreen and seal, fully rebuilt front brakes CALLIPERS seals pistons and pads all the brake hoses are in good condition and rear brakes required no work. Just been serviced engine oil and filter new fuel filter. Transmission serviced 12 months ago band adjustment new filter and oil. 4 new tyres. Currently on non transferable club plates will be sold unregistered. I will obtain a pink slip for the buyer that is all that is required to put it on club. Plates. Current registration number 92677H.
This car is very reliable and a pleasure to drive. Air conditioner disconnected the compressor seized.
I am open to a sensible offer around $6000.00 current location KANAHOOKA NSW. 2530 a Wollongong suburb.
My reason for selling is based on my financial status I am on the aged pension and have been for 9 years did not end up with a lot of superannuation and cash is running low. BTW, feel free to display more pictures of your car, such as Interior etc. on the website - you just never know who reads TK. Five years ago, I sold my Montesa 360GP Cappra to a Victorian when Google referred him to some comment I had made on TK in relation to the bike. Never at any time had I advertised the bike. The power of the Internet !

Hello again Styria it is nice to hear from you again I actually have missed the contact with you all I consider you all as friends.
Yes we do have two other cars both 13and 14years old a Hyundai Sonata and a Nissan X-TRAIL.
Both cars are in great condition and one of these will have to go down the track. It gets to a point when you have to adjust to your current circumstances.. Thank you for enquiring about Robin she is OK but has a coordination and balance issues and I have a crook foot which also plays apart in how often you get to go out and use your club cars. I don't think this will sell quickly and I would still like to meet with you all.
I have listed it in Just cars but it takes about a week to Appear on the website. I have also listed it in our local car club. These cars mainly appeal to us oldies. Unless it has a big V8 under the bonnet and a blower poking out above the bonnet there is little interest.
I am amazed at the high priced stuff out there that is complete rubbish. I guess I am showing my age.
Right now I am making our home as comfortable as possible have just installed solar panels to offset the electricity bills so we can use the air-conditioning more. This in turn also impacts on the savings.

Yes it was a pretty good car. The guy who bought it h a s a few other Mercedes and a couple of wrecks the same model as the one I sold him so he should be able to keep it going.

Hi Jim, congratulations from me as well. It is great that you managed to move it and, whatsmore, at somewhere near a reasonable price. Your car looked great and well cared for. Now,I've got to say something to you - we are gonna have a get together at some time, and it is a absolute MUST that you will attend . yes I would still like to meet you all.
we still have two everyday cars the Sonata and a Nissan Xtrail. Down the track I may get another classic it is hard to end a part of your life ,it would be a lot more humble than the Mercedes. I have a couple of new old stock rear shocks for the P5 I would like to give you sometime and a friend still has a 3 litre short motor for the P5 I gave him 18 years ago he still has a Rover 100 but he would be happy to let it go.He is not getting any younger. It is not in great shape however it has a lot of good bits to offer.
