Why not just get an ipod connection.

I have re-discovered all my old music and now my CD players sit empty.

Bill

I am having an Ipod connection fitted to the Spur as we speak... (or type.. )...

The unit in the 690SEL is an aftermarket already and is simply kaput

What's wrong with a record player?:eek::eek: OK - a bit of wow and flutter and the odd skip of the needle as you oversteer around the Great Ocean Road but doesn't that analogue sound sweet? I use a proper turntable in the house and defy you to find a nicer sound.

BenzBoy

I have two of those in-car record players ! Made by RCA in 1959. One will go in the 1960 Buick when I get around to restoring it. I also recently sold a Highway Hi-Fi unit that was made for Chrysler between 1955 and 1958 - ended up going to Norway. Postage cost was just over $300 !

Cheaper at Imparts. I think I paid around $11.00/litre.

Yeah, but Euro Car parts is my client (buys lots of adverts).
I kinda like to buy from him as he buys from me...:p

Hi Geoff, good find. There is probably nothing wrong with the product, but given the delicacy of the system, I prefer genuine whenever possible. Regards Styria

Hi Styria this seller also sells other penrite products in bulk . I have used there products before and have never had a problem . I only know of B13 having used this oil in his 6.9 who stated he had used it for over a decade. But i do know of a W124 Wagon with Rear SLS that has used it since the early 90's belongs to a Mercedes workshop here in Perth is the parts chaser or loaner car . Geoff PS Penrite have been around since 1926 and this oil is there ISO approved grade oil for SLS http://www.penriteoil.com.au/products.php?id_categ=9&id_products=159 Or hi zinc oils for older motors like ours http://www.penriteoil.com.au/products/vintage,-veteran-&-classic . Geoff :D

I agree with Craig about Imparts. And I double agree re his good taste in cars (1960 Buick), since I have a 1957 Roady! :D

Hi Geoff, I have absolutely nothing against the Penrite product - I simply prefer the MB oil on account of the perceived complexity of the suspension system. I knew of one guy who used engine oil and he reckoned it seemed to work okay. Mind you, he forever kept having problems with the system and it ultimately resulted in him selling the car in the end. Regards Styria

N.B. Don't know if the engine oil was responsible for his problems. He was a "great fixer" and master of ingenuity and inventiveness !
