Ignition switch removal

I am looking at the degree of difficulty in removing an ignition switch from the dashboard. It's the ignition switch that I want.
Do I have to remove much (or all) of the dash to get it out, or is the wood panel removable separately?

Posting the answer publically might put the security of all our cars at risk..... Perhaps a series of PMs from those in the know might be better??

I take your point Mark and you are totally correct.
I look forward to some information via pm from anyone in the know.

In saying that, I am not necessarily looking for step by step instructions, as I could figure it out myself given the time.
I am more looking to the degree of difficulty.
ie; do I need to devote a whole day to this project or can I do it "over coffee"

And to fill you in further, the switch is in a "donor" 116. I have it sitting around for the odd part when needed.
A fellow enthusiast has asked me for the switch as he needs it, and I am only trying to help him out.
