so.......my W116 started only topping-out at about 40 when going up hills (I live in the mountains). I took it in to my mechanics and a hose had come-off the turbo. They re-attached it and everything worked well again. (It hasn't had an issue for about a year, but I don't drive it all winter).
Today I drove it to the casino and back (30 miles round trip), and I have to have it floored to get up the hill, and it's back to topping-out at 40 again. I checked the turbo, and everything seems to be attached OK.
Since I have had it, when you try and punch (floor) it from a stop, it tends to slip a little between first and second gear, but if I start-out normally, and gradually pick-up speed, it shifts just fine. Is this a major transmission issue?
Not that I am trying to burn rubber in my diesel, but when my partner drives it, she doesn't like the way it shifts and picks-up speed from a stop.
I guess I am just a pansy and just drive my baby slow wherever I go, lol. It doesn't really bother me the way it shifts, but is it something I should have looked into, or is something simple?
Thanks for any advice.
