Geoff, regarding spare parts prices that I may query at times. I don't think that anyone can tell the difference between a 450 flex disc and a genuine 6.9 unit. Frankly, I would be surprised if 6.9 units are still available, in ORIGINAL guise. As I pointed out, I have 450 units, and I can fit them. No one would ever know that they are not 6.9 units.
Regards Styria

What is the difference between a 450 and a 6.9 flex disc Godfather?

Geoff, even the 126 cells are 'Red Dot' cells - it does not make them genuine 6.9. 6.9 units had a satisfactory working life of at least ten years (I know from personal experience) whilst the units you purchase nowadays are not likely to take you past four years. Additionally, gradual deterioration is much more prevalent. Regards Styria

The last cells I fitted are more than 7 years old now.
And they are great.
Had to be red dot ones to match the colour of the car :p

Does $200 include oil?

Hi BenzBoy, yes the price includes the required quantity of Semi Synthetic Oil. Goodness knows, that little engine (1300cc) would not take a lot of oil. At one stage, I did suggest that they use Full Synthetic, but they advised that it was of no real benefit on account of the oil change carried out at the recommended mileage of ten thousand kilometers. Full synthetic would last longer than that.

In common with WGB, I asked that the oil filter was to be changed at the first service as well, which was not part of routine service. Regards Styria

N.B. Incidentally, last two trips to Central Coast and return yielded a petrol consumption of 6.2l/100kms.

Really MIchel ? I would have said no more than four years, although obviously I stand to be corrected. Regards Styria

Your oil capacity is 3.6 litres and yes the recommended is semi-synthetic.
That's about right for an engine of that capacity. Your fuel consumption on the open road is 50% of mine. Hmmm...

Brian

Hi Brian, I guess that's to be expected. I take it that you are comparing with your ML270 (320 ?). Regarding consumption, I think that there is very little difference between open road and town use. Since new, the engine appears to have freed up nicely, and is actually pulling quite well. 120 on the highway is an absolute breeze, showing about 2500 rpm. Max. torque comes in at 4000 rpm. Regards Styria

N.B. BTW, what do you think of tyre rotation ? Necessary ? Advisable ? Seeing that there is no properly sized spare.

Conventional wisdom with FWD is to rotate direct front to rear as one front usually wears quicker than the other.
However, the CLK (RWD) has different sizes front to rear so rotation is impossible. I never rotate on the Spirit - wear always seems to be even.
I don't think there is a definitive answer - I would simply look at the tyre wear and make a judgement based on that.
Regards,
Brian

Yes surprisingly good fuel consumption out of modern small cars. My 2000 Hyundai Accent 1.5 litre Auto was able to go from Bertram to Kalgoorlie on the one tank about 650km . I will not say at what speed.
