I'd like to refresh the looks of my wheels and recently recieved a quote of $125 each to refinish. Looking at Adsitco.com it looks like I can get new ones for $150.

My questions are does anyone know if these Adsitco wheels are original and is there any reason to refinish when new ones are almost the same price?

Hi MB Mike, I see you're located in New York, therefore freight is not going to be overly expensive. At $150.00 each, they're great value compared with refurbished ones. However, keep in mind that there are Italian made versions of them which are a little different to originals. I have also read a couple of times now to be careful when dealing with Adsitco - not my opinion, just what has been written. So check carefully. Regards Styria

Styria, thank you for the input. I will proceed with caution. Is there a definitive resource however, that deals with identifying originals from say Italian made? Wheels in general seem to be a very obscure area concerning originality, especially with the early AMG wheels.

I would have said that Bundts produced in Italy are marked accordingly on the inside of the rim. Unfortunately, I can't provide you with any illustrations - genuine original German Bundts have a fairly narrow rim that has a smooth transition from rim to the main body of the wheel.

Also, there is another quite distinctly shaped 14" Bundt wheel produced by a German Company by the name of Melber. They are very rare, a lot cheaper than the 15" variety (talk Gold), and also seem sturdier in construction - certainly heavier than original. I hope this helps. Regards Styria

Thank you sir. I shall be on the lookout. Wheels are just one step in refreshing the 280.
