For a second I read that as 20000 dollars, $2k for a set of wheels brand new isn't expensive.

Your're right, however at about 3 times the price of a set of 14" in good condition it is a bit hard to justify, there is still a very good selection of 14" tyres available here.

yes I recently got x4 new 14" tyres for my Volvo, Bridgestones of some sort,
$500 fitted

they have improved the ride, the way the car handles, and reasonable quietness on the highway.

I have an opinion on this subject matter, believe it or not. Sure, you can brobably buy better tyres etc. etc., but I really think that 15" Bundts are purely "poseur value" - you know that you've got something that not everyone else has.

Very handy when "tyrekicking" is in full swing - it's better to look and discuss 15" Bundts, rather than looking at crappy paint or rust bubbles in a few spots. I speak from experience. Regards Styria

Those are centras, perhaps the most 'available' of the 15" options. He describes them as 7Jx15et23. Perhaps its an error, because I thought mine were 7.5J. I'll have to check up on them.

Styria, I'm inclined to agree with you. I've found decent 14" tyres to be just fine on these cars. Since I have the 15" wheels, and the tyres will be a similar price to good 14" tyres, I'll go with the 15's next time I need to buy tyres.

One of the pics shows the embossing 7Jx15H2, which is quite interesting. I'm not such a fan of Centras myself. Whenever I here the name, I immediately think of the typical "Centras" that I consider quite grotesque.
