My 107 drivers seat has sagged. Styria has some suggestions. An article in "Peach Parts " suggests that using a Polyester sheet instead of the Horse Hair Insert gives better support ( $10 item ) Plus use Pool Noddle ( round firm foam lengths ) to support the spring base ) Has anyone tried this ? May not last as long as using the original parts but as a week end car the cost savings are not insignificant.........Sean

pulled the seat today and it looked like the day it left the Factory. The Horse Hair insert was firm and the springs looked and felt fresh. I was able to raise the cushion an inch or so by inserting some hard rubber packing between the spring base and the Horse Hair Pad , spreading the load across all the springs.
The hardest part was R & R-ing the heavy seat, 4 side bolts and 2 hidden screws.
Now little Wifey should be able to see over the steering wheel. Like me, she has shrunk an inch or two with age, and gravity eventually gets you !

Yes everything looked good Styria. Even the original Factory label with P/number still there after 33 years. I'm now inclined to believe the mileage at 70,000 odd thousand ,as the steering wheel also shows little wear round the rim. It's a Hong Kong Import and as the person who brought it in said...
" Where can you drive to in Hong Kong ". The car has been a weekend Hobby car ever since and garaged all it's life.
