A further update on the gasket pricing. My US friend has quoted me US$78.75 for the gasket and $258.41 for the gasket kit. Some other prices were $41.22 for each valve cover gasket, or $31.32 for an aftermarket Elring Klinger gasket.
EDIT: Some of you may be concerned that the above may be seen as not supporting the Classic Center. However, let me assure you that the parts would be supplied by the Classic Center - just not direct.
