In other news I've been rapidly accumulating the stuff of race cars... seats, harnesses, instrumentation, fuel cell...

Also should have the sucker back at my house where I can work on it and take more happy snaps and post progress... at the moment its 1hr drive away...

Its got a bit of cancer and is generally less desirable than most other 450SEs out there...

no sunroof
no zebrano console
older more troublesome D-jet EFI system
MB-Tex
non metallic paint
etc.

Looks good from the outside so scuitineers should not give me a hard time pre-race.

Lucky bugger..... mine looks rough as so they usually hassle me pretty hard.


What's your plans for suspension?? Are you looking at doing some work anytime soon?

I thought it was appropriate to dig this up as it gives us a chance to tie up some loose ends. BTW, if one looks at Ian's You Tube video, there are some others in that segment that are also extremely interesting.

BTW Ian, do you still have the D-Jet system ? Any trouble or probs with it, and/or any big bikies that may have changed hands to maintain the system ? I am talking about trigger points, engine sensor, injectors etc. etc. Regards Styria

I have the D-jet working perfectly now - I was just lucky that at the time I started working on this car a glut of D-jet 350 and 450 cars were being wrecked at the various self-serve wreckers around Melbourne, so within about 6 months I ended up with 6 MPSs, 4 distributors with triggers, a bunch of ECUs, throttle body sensors, fuel dampers, injectors, cold starters etc. From this point it was just remove-replace-retest until the car ran satisfactorily.
