Gotta start somewhere and its bloody hot in Melbourne today (35C) so I've done two things:

1. I got rid of the Bosch D-jet test equipment connector assembly on the engine:

2. I got rid of the useless LH side mirror. Its an aerodynamic drag and weighs 2kg.

Oscar the mirror will be on its way to you this week, unless your address has changed - in which case you'd better let me know.

Good vid Ian! Exhaust sounds f*kn nice!! It'll be sweet on full song down the straights...... even if you are getting overtaken by a silver 450..

The Oel gauge definately looks like it's that that is faulty. Any money it's just getting stuck etc. I'm guessing you don't have Oel pi$$ing out anywhere?

Nice work on the weight reduction from the mirror. That's a significant de-crease.

I noticed in the 2 engine bay shots that the dizzy cap is different in the 1st to the 2nd photo. Did you get a new dizzy cap too?

Acutally I'm after one of those W126 dizzy cap condoms you sometimes see... anyone got one to sell???

Distributor cap covers were fitted to all these cars brand new I understand, I have checked for my 250 for one brand new from MB and they are no longer available.

they were $25 when available, so might want to check for the one you are after and they might still have it available

My 350SE came with the Condom Cover.

I'm guessing later models, like the W126, have the better looking V8 one.

Interestingly, I have yet to see one of those covers on a 70's K-Jet car. They were definitely on D-Jet cars.

Those dizzy cap - cap's are pimpin!! I'll pass though too much weight...

What would be cool is 1 of those 560 snorkel air cleaners with the pipes running up to 2 bonnet scoops (1 on each side). Now THAT would be pimpin!
