Hi David, some of the websites I am familiar with. Your post, however, prompted me to re-visit 'sechsneuner.de' after some two years.
At the time, I was instrumental in having the 'old' site listed as a link and I will approach their webmaster to include 'topklasse' as well. Further perusal of their subsections revealed some interesting details. First of all, there are two brochures for year models 1975 and 1976, and the first one in particular would be a welcome addition to our Resources section - just for the pics, if nothing else.
Then, in addition, another section refers to magazine tests when some of the models were new, but also 'Oldtimer Markt' goes to some lengths in evaluating our 116's as a classic and/or collectors item. Some quite fascinating reading, albeit in the German language. For instance, at the time of the introduction of the 6.9, Daimler Benz also had a prototype 450SLC that was fitted with the 6.9 engine.
Anyway, I'll see what can be done to make this site more user friendly as far as non-German speaking members of our site are concerned. I will also have more comments on the other sites that you have listed in due course. Much appreciated for what you have done.
Also, I keep forgetting as to the best method to give topklasse members access to the 116 manufacture CD that I have previously referred to. Regards Styria
