Of greater interest is his insistence, after I questioned him, that the engine number is correct. Of course it is not consistent with the Crewe practice!! It is simply an abbreviation of the VIN - such practice was dropped in 1979. I wonder what he is hiding? An analysis of the VIN shows it to be a stock standard carburetor plus Garrett turbo charger model with all other modifications made after it left the factory. That is unusual as the factory also did armour plating but of a more complete type.
Anyway, it would be a hoot at a BBQ?
