Hi Ossie, I did take note of the horsepower figure as quoted on the website, but the text makes no reference to the extra horses. A couple of things I noticed were a black box on the left hand side of the engine bay the purpose of which I am not aware of.

The other items of interest were the oil pressure reading at idle (engine not quite hot enough), and the rev counter red/orange lined at 5000 rpm. This seemed to be the 'rev limit' on the earlier models, whereas the later ones showed a reading of 5300 rpm.

This is a terrific website as it gives you pricing on many models, as well as some pretty good pictures overall which give you an insight into what's what and what it looks like. I am quite amazed at the 6.9 prices - wish they'd be the same in this country. Regards Styria

BTW, did you notice the Lorinser steering wheel ? IMO, somewhat nicer than an AMG unit.

How do we translate those kind of prices to Australia?

ARE THESE CARS really that much better than our 6.9s to be commanding those sports of prices? Ok the milages of the cars are generally lower, possibly due to the cost of petrol in europe, or people in germany just have shorter distances to cover, but I figure even germany is not immune to the possibility of people tampering with odometers.

I.

I see one of the main reasons for values to be so high in Germany would be the fact that these are the equivalent to our Monaro 350 and Falcon GT HO.
Local demand for local muscle car.

I bet if you took an XY GT Phase III to Germany, they wouldn't know what to do with it...

I think you're on the money there Michel. ;)
There is quite a demand for the 6.9 in Germany and Europe in general, it seems. Supply and demand is probably a factor too, most have probably rusted away by now.

Actually to be honest I can't tell. They look very similar to me, if it wasn't for the logo I probably wouldn't be able to pick em apart. There's two kinds of AMG style I've noticed, the ones with webs between the spokes like the Lorinser one and the other type are like my Italovolanti wheels, (4 spokes, no web). Personally I like the ones without the web.

My fave combo in that 6.9 lineup would have to be the metallic blue on white interior. Didn't realise it was the most expensive either but it's got the climate control system in it which I thought was odd but other than that it looks very well cared for.
