I've had a look at this one; it's full of rust, as it's been stored outside near the beach. It's had a bingle (!) in the front passenger side & the suspension doesn't raise up, or drop back down........

I cringe when I hear about a Merc being described as a 'parts car' - but there is an exception to every rule and this car is it.

The interior colour is right for me. I wonder how much he wants for the woodwork and under dash board kick panels? I've always had a preference for the burr walnut and suede instead of linear grain wood & plastic.

That car was a concourse winner? good lord, what happened between then and now? A tour of duty? The one in Adelaide (ebay Euro Anthracite) was better and cheaper for under that, and that poor 6.9 was sitting in backyard helping the grass grow for a few years.

I'm more curious about the wood trim at the moment as the timber in my car is as good as the day it left the production line and I'm a bit of a stickler for keeping things as original as possible...

At the moment the two pet projects for the 450 are (in no particular order) full sheepskin front & rear and Bundt alloys - of which I am currently in the process of negotiating with a potential seller.

Whenever I look at one of the cars and say "I'd really like to", MY wallet is removed from my pocket with deft fingers (not my own) and I'm told to sit in the corner and think about what I've just said...

I usually sit there until something shiny catches my eye (which helps).
But the actual sitting in the corner? No. I just get a square bum.
