Well , I have had a satisfactory result on sorting a reluctant A/ Valve by introducing the Subaru Induction Cleaner via the vacuum retard hose. Now starts cold at 1000 RPM , then increases to about 1200 after one minute before dropping to 800 after about five minutes . I use a 82% thermostat.
I'm no longer tempted to remove the inlet manifold to fit the spare valve I refurbished. It's buried somewhere under air flow meter and inlet manifold
(110 engine. )
But maybe it was just a coincidence and the thing just sorted its self out as the car is now used on a regular basis as my drive car.
