Bet this is from the same dude i bought the extractors off... and sent back.

He said he had a 6.9 engine there, and offered me a 'special deal' of 3K for the engine.. Gold...

This will probably be re-listed for about $500 cheaper next time.

If the engine is any good the price is reasonable, compared to the cost of rebuilding an existing engine,

Imagine you would want the diff and gearbox to back it up, unless you were thinking of a manual cog swapper of some sort?
I guess wouldn't be hard to get someone like RodShop to make up the fittings for a manual.

Would love to, and with a manual 5 or even 6 speed behind it...i'd be un-stoppable.. but not to be. If I did a 6.9 conversion i'd chuck supra 5 speed behind it yes, and as for a diff i'd do a conversion to a 9" custom job......

I can only speak for myself I am quite envious of what you are doing, and enjoy reading your updates and the pictures.


Maybe when B13 is not looking you could "borrow" the keys to the 6.9 and put a few laps in for us report on your thoughts and impressions of driving her around the track!

I've already emailed the guy since I need some suspension parts to get the bismarck handling properly.

Where on earth do you find those parts easily ?

Unless the Godfather has them on an exchange basis and that way you don't need to remove yours first to have them reconditionned.

I know most 6.9 suspension parts are sold on exchange basis, as are brake calipers, but things like amg front spoilers and steering bracket re-inforcement plates are (obviously) not an exhange item.

Lot of money to burn on something that might be a pile of junk, I know I would be scared of ending up with a blown or smokey engine, ok buying it from someone you know and trust.

I don't think Ian has any trouble getting it going, its just getting it up that is the problem.
