Engine swap

I would like to put a 280SE M110 engine into my 1966/67, 108 chassis. Was originally a 250SE. Bought the car recently with a W114 "untried" engine sitting in it,hooked up to the original auto box. Have had a 250S previously & would like a bit more grunt. Anyone know the details of such a swap? Cheers! Hope you can help.

Welcome Splinters!!! I haven't had any experience in this area, but it does sound like a worthwhile swap.... Then look at a supercharger!!!

Hi SPLINTERS , welcome to the best forum ever , that swap sounds interesting , i personally face same attempt but i used a M103 3000 engine for my w108 which was bought a year ago , it was originally also 250 model year 68 but was equipped with 3000 diesel engine which i just dumpped , the car was turned to what called a RED PIG and the thread is somewhere here on TK but not yet finished , i did change the engine , transmition and suspention and we put an A/C and we did complete conversion of the car , such swap needs to change the exhaust pipes as well as the engine bearings and i advise that mercedes pros do this cause you will need many things to be modified.

Its a fairly easy swap if you have a donor car. I'd make sure the engine is ok before fitting it, good luck

Hi SPLINTERS , again please look at the thread The MAKING OF RED PIG , it show my experience so far , the car is in tests now and waiting for some paperwork before i can take new photos with the finish result .

Very NICE MOTEC , but i needed to change the engine mounts to do the swap and of corse the exhaust manifold plus the master break and servo and i put the battery in the trunk to give space i still have minor problem with the steering wheel i find it too close to the driver seat ( will deal with it later)
just waiting for the papers from the customs for the new engine to complete the registrtion .
