New front end

For once I thought i'd post somewhere else other than the motorsports section, so here it is.

Tonight was spent tidying up the front end after bumper removal (weight saving obviously).

Sheet of diamond(ish) mesh - $30
Can of Flat Black paint - $9
Drop sheet - $2

and here you have it......

After the strip / paint


Eating Kate's lasagne, much more fun than watching paint dry. (Damn, the girl can cook!)










I'll do the plastic grill centre and lower plastic grill (black one at the bottom) when the rest of the car get's painted on Friday.

Hi SELfor50, you really dug a grave for yourself this time, haven't you. Believe it or not, this is the first time that I have seen this thread and, whatsmore, it was on Topklasse before I went to Europe. Other than your expert painting job and body modification, the remarkable thing was that you did not even get a reply to your post.

I rather like the idea of your "mesh job". I have something similar up my sleeve, but have not yet gotten around to fitting it. Plus, I think that maybe the stuff I've got might be a bit crude.

Anyway, I hope we can get an updated picture and follow up to your thread. Regards Styria

Dug a grave?? by the lack of bumpers?

"expert painting"?? ALWAYS!

The mesh was bought from 'super sh!t auto', and you can actually get it at repco etc etc... as well. It's about $25-30 for about 1.5m by 40cm.. Just cut it to size..

Obviously, I wasn't too particular about the fitting, mainly cause of the use of the vehicle.

And when do you plan to post the pictures having remove the plastic mesh from the radiator / grille?
