Koni front shocks for W116 on eBay USA

I know there's a lot of debate as to which is better, the Bilstein or the Koni, but I'd go with the Koni if I could find some matching rear shocks.... since I can't I'm sure these would still be handy for one of us... and the price is right...

Bilstein - I've never been able to make Koni's last.

Koni's are probably OK for track use - especially the adjustable ones but when the price is similar durability counts.

Well, the current bid is certainly on the correct side of the ledger. I used to buy Koni shocks quite regularly years ago as I used to get a great discount from Proven Products in Guildford who were the importers for Konis at that time - I am talking at least ten years ago.

In those days, I knew a fair bit about Rovers in general and still have some. However, I used to compare the genuine Rover Shocks with Konis and found that Rovers had a larger body with a much thicker shaft. Whether or not that made the Rover product better, I do not know. Howewer, just recently, I disposed of heaps of Koni as well as Monroe dampers, and kept some geniune Rover units as they appeared to be in better condition. Regards Styria

No, I was tempted, but I never thought I'd find a set of matching rear Koni shocks.

Also, the RX4 race car which runs a Koni setup has hydraulic Koni's, as for tarmac I think they have better control than the gas ones. If I could find a complete set of hydraulic konis for a 116 i'd snap them up for sure.
