Hmm. Looks like a Revell (Germany) composite diecast 1:18 scale W116. They also have a 6.9 1:18 scale, which, if my memory serves me correctly, has a price of about AUD $175. (I stand to be corrected pricewise). That bonnet star gives it away.

Des has not been easy work loosing the weight it has been hard work! yet it has been very rewarding.

Cheers Slim.

Tim I have upgraded from a Mercedes to a Volvo, ;) People from Sweden are basically Germans anyway.

Have owned a few models, 740GLE, 850 presently have a 240GL, has been my backup car for over 5 years, using it every day at the moment.

It's a bit of a running joke with my friends, that I've had it longer than any other car, has only been washed once in 5 years, I fill it up with engine oil when the light comes on, (once every 3 months) transmission fluid about once a month, and it just keeps going and going. Who cares it leaks oil? fill it up like petrol and off it goes again.....

Not bad for $1,000 motoring, I have air con, power steer, basically all you want in a luxury car.

I did used to have a Golf but that caught fire, so only have a Beetle:

Hi Des, like that old, comfy looking countryside you call home - reminds me so much of certain parts of Tassie. Nice to see well maintained and cared for Volkswagen - no, no, noooo...it's a notta beetle...it's a Kaefer supposedly spelt with an Umlaut 'a' with two horns on the letter. Anyway, it's classier looking than that Swedish carriage - mind you, must say what an underrated classic (?) they are now. Regards Styria

Speaking of models........because I am only 12 years old I bought myself this a few months ago:

It's a 1:10 scale Beetle, about 40cm long, electric powered R/C car

You can get an idea of the scale of it by the little hotwheels sized cars to the left.

Made in der Black Forest by der little elfs? Actually, it looks like a quite faithful to the original model.

Yep all original, August 1964 model, 6 volt, 1200 motor

It's a private inport from Germany, not a Made in Australia Beetle like most of the Beetle's around

It's unrestored, original car, not perfect, few scrapes and dings here and there, but what I was really after, an original, rust free, unmodified example, which is hard to find.
