Interesting, no battery, hasn't run for two years but its still at the correct (or near to it) ride height.

The interior colour combo is nice - well worn though. Am curious to see what this ends at given the condition of it.

I see the special option of a teak dash!!!
Apart from a rather odd set of instructions as to when you must collect if you succeed, it also fails to give the VIN which is required ny legislation if the registration is not stated.
No: not for me.

There would be lots of work, AND money, to bring this car up to standard. Unfortunately, once again, a case of total, and unexplainable neglect of yet another 6.9.

It's funny, what I have found on many occasions it's the guys with REAL money to their name, that most appreciate what 6.9s are all about. They keep them in pristine condition, they are garaged and cossetted, and afforded the TLC that these cars deserve. This is not to detract from what all members of our forum also pursue - they also look after the cars, AND spend money, but they have started off with examples (in some instances) that required more than their share of expense to put things right. Its funny how some of these cars get to be in such run down states i know from personal exper my silver 6.9 was imaculate when i bought it from the second owner 10 years ago with receits for everything including milage and cost off every tank off fuel even for replacement globes he was an accountant unfortunately when i had misshape with my motor i let my 6.9 just sit around for 5 years so now it is costing a lot to return to former glory but at least i dont have major rust to worry about having spent most off its life in Canberra:)

Reserve not met at $1,575.

Interesting, considering the impression I get is that the property has to be vacated and the 'owner' is there only on three days this week.

Relisted, 2 days to go (this weekend is the move it date).

$1,000 starting bid, $1,500 buy it now (cheaper than last close), and the reserve apparently lower than that.

This is starting to look appealing from a parts point of view. Remember, the parts aren't brown. :)

Hi Lukas, I know exactly where you're coming from as far as regarding this car as a 'parts car' - very appealing, but on the other hand fraught with danger. Without being particularly specific, it is fair to say that, bodywise, almost any 6.9 is like almost anything other than that. You know, seats, carpets, body etc. etc. - I am sure you know what I mean. So what's so special about these mechanical parts that are on this 6.9 - not a lot, in particular, given that the car has sat around unused for such a long time. You don't know to what extent parts have deteriorated, you don't know what parts are worn out, unuseable, in short not much, if at all, better than what you may already have.

Given the apparent state of the car, it could well be that it has had not much attention, nor money lavished on it, for a number of years. Yes I know it sounds "exciting", but the 'nasties' may only just be around the corner, and hidden in a possible price tag of , say, $1500.00. Regards Styria

Not me, I promise. Styria is right re the risk in buying it even as a parts car - who knows what condition they are in. I suppose it's a gamble of "If I assume x% of the (6.9 specific) parts are still good, what are they worth?"
