Just noticed the 450SEL advertised for sale on eBay.

I do not know the car nor do I know the seller of the car.

Both the speedo and oil pressure gauge measure in Imperial - it's probably not an Australia delivered car.

Check the steering wheel, doesn't show much sign of wear at the 3 & 9 o'clock.
If it's the original wheel then the mileage would probably be as claimed.
Speedos do go wrong and perhaps it has been repaired , a stripped gear perhaps, they are available and pain to dismantle the speedo head and fix.

A drive round the block would soon tell if it is a tired old warrior or a fresh young thing

It's an extremely well presented and well cared for car - by the looks of things. If there is any aspect to draw criticism, it is the appearance of the spare wheel well, and the abysmal condition of the spare tyre. One would have expected much better given the appearance of the car in general. It is also worth noting that it has been fitted with velour upholstery - almost a bonus on the 116s, even though I prefer leather for no specific reason. Regards Styria

English car, hints are the velour and headlight wipers (But you could have ordered these in Australia) but the give away is the fact it is missing the tachometer, has a MPH speedo and the UK registration plate mounting plates.

If it was that good, I would have bought it lol.

It is indeed a UK car and was imported in 1974, so I don't think there are any rust issues - at least not UK rust !
