To be perfectly honest, I have always bought my oil from K - Mart or Big W, except for many years ago when I used to deal with Castrol direct. That contact is all gone now, so the Supermarkets it is.....or, of course, from Repco at various times.
Now, Repco have always maintained that "there is no profit margin in oil" so any discount you'd get would always be miniscule. In fact, Supermarkets were, as a rule, the cheaper alternative if comparing like with like. What I have noticed lately is the considerable jump in oil prices being charged by the larger outlets, such as Repco, Supercheap Auto and the retail giants - it looks like the "Rudd" factor has found its way into the Automotive World as well. Castrol Magnetite is now approaching the $40.00 mark for five litres, especially at a fairly new outlet by the name of Burson Automotives. The Supermarkets are still a little cheaper, but not by much. So guys, we're on a roller coaster ride - sorry, not downhill, but in the other direction. Just look around yourself a bit. Regards Styria
