I have had a couple of really close looks at the Chinese built MG brand. There are of course the three versions, starting with abl567s employee the basic unit valued at about 16K. to 17K., and the next models run out at about 24.5K. and climbing to about $34K. At that price, the last named, it is quite a bit more realistically priced than the other "recognized" brands costing about $10K. plus more, which now certainly includes the Koreans who have become a little greedy now with their pricing.
The prospect of buying a major priced Chinese brand could be fraught with danger. Without going into politics, if the Chinese were to ever place an embargo on supplying Australia with its myriad of products, it would spell an absolute disaster for this country. I know it may never happen, but if it did, think of the implications - just follow the trail of no goods coming in, nothing would be sold by the retailers, shops would close,, Shopping centres would go under - well, it would be a disaster. So, I would steer clear of the Chinese on a long term basis, and choose Japanese (Honda), Mazda, and then the Koreans. I also like the new VW Crosses (T-Roc and another Roc !), but I am a little concerned as to their long term reliability. Yes, it could all be a gamble whichever way you look at it. Regards Styria
