Taken from Bills thread about the Mampe 450SLC twin throttle:
So doing some very basic math using % hp vs capacity the following theoretical increases could apply if you made the same vintage mods to different engines:
370hp from 450cc
459hp 560
566hp 690!
If you do the same based on the AMG 500SEC (ITB):
454hp 500cc
510hp 560
628hp 690!
Note some people are sceptical those figures are accurate & actually inflated. However the drivers did report the cars chewed up racing slicks and you can’t do that with low power!
If you base it on % hp increase Std vs competition (73% increase):
519hp 300hp 560
495hp 6.9 Euro
431hp 6.9 US
460hp 6.9 AUS
Basing it on the Red Pig:
420hp 6.8
391hp 6.3!
The 6.3 is a little different since the std intake manifold was similar to the race version, whereas the std 450/560/6.9 intake was very different to the race version. So obviously the modified exhaust helped.
If you use the CW311 as a benchmark (with a single throttle), 375hp from 6.3L is 60hp per L. So a theoretical hp increase for the 6.9 using the same (old) tech would produce 414hp.
