This video brings back many memories of my early driving days. One of the many cars I used to own was a 220SEb, with drum brakes all round - it was an early model, and an absolute flyer. Good enough, and fast enough, to keep pace with a 108 - 280SE 3.5 going up Galston Gorge towards Galston.
Anyway, the car being tested here - not 100%, is it ? Creaky driver's door, cracks in steering wheel, unbelieveably sloppy gearchange (like mixing gravel), pre-war gearbox ratios (well, '50s anyway) with very low 1st and 2nd, and almost impossibly tall 3rd gear, but they were a great family car and just about indestructible. Friend of mine, with a very nice 6.9, still prefers to drive his 1965/66 230S (twin carbies) on a daily basis. The car in this video sounds sporty - just not sure if they normally sound like that.
