Air Con mystery

Mercedes today confirmed that the Compressor Valve is only available with a new Compressor $1500..... Their Tech. also said that in many cases it is a guessing game to find the cause... many sensors that do not flag a fault !!
Back to learning to live with it... not the end of the World.

Scouring the internet... no one has come up with a definitive answer. Some have spent big $$ with the Dealers mostly in the States.

Still a mystery... this morning with temp. at 22% the air Con came on after about 20 seconds. ..... On when I don't need it !!!

It seems to take longer, the hotter it is.
I always had the theory there is some kind of sensor that waits until It thinks it can blow very cold before it lets the air through. As the systems age, and perhaps no longer have a full charge of freon, this takes longer. I prefer the older method where it doesn't hold it back.

No scientific basis to my theory though.

Yes Bryce, that fits in with the comments the Mercedes Tech made as to multiple Sensors complicating these systems.

Now behaving itself this past week ?? All I did was to switch the Air on and off a dozen times to perhaps wake up the electronic Control Valve on the Compressor
Maybe this did something or maybe the system just decided to function. Though I am aware that, as Ant said, that the system is just sorting itself out before letting Cold Air through to the Cabin in high Ambient Temp. and Humidity.

P.S. it has taken me a year to sort out all the phobiles , now Car Drives as the makers and designers intended.
