Wanted Window Rubber Strips

Not sure of the name, but I am looking for some good used ones if anyone have.

I am told one can use the inside ones and swap the clips.

Any idea?

I also believe they are available new...

But I'm not keep on spending big at this stage as Bluey is on a tight budget (what budget????)

I'd call them weather strips (internal & external) and if they aren't still available new I'll be in trouble!!

Sometimes, you can be lucky.

I have often patrolled around a very large junk car yard and found parts from other cars that do the job better than the originals.

A lot of the trim clips in my 6.9 have been replaced by Toyota clips off junked Toyotas. They simply do a better job!

However, you have to be lucky. It is certainly worth a try, if you have the spare time. Exterior seals against the glass present the most serious problem.

Rubber seal strips will almost certainly be of the wrong length. OK if they are too long, they can be cut. If they are too short, the shorter lengths can be joined. I have done this with super glue. That stuff will NOT let go, when it comes to joining lengths of rubber strip end to end. I have done this on a Nisan Skyline.

It is called a weather seal or Window weather seal and the profile looks common enough Michel.

Id call Scotts old auto rubber in Melbourne as they sell popular profile rubber by the meter as well as trim clips etc.

As for the Clips Id try GPI Automotive, Ive been buying stuff from them for years on and off and their trim and clip kit was pretty good from memory.

Thanks Tony, you've jogged my memory because Scott's (in Melbourne) and Jackson's in Sydney have the same stuff.

I've had to chase some weird stuff over the years and although my memory seems to self wipe every so often Scotts stuck in my mind.

Just hold out for the felt backed stuff if you can.
