Looking for some genuine W116 Benz rubber floor mats.

As long as they are not torn or worn out.

Would like a set of four, but will accept front ones...

Many thanks

How about putting another set of carpet mats on top of your existing ones?
I have done that, but I have removed the backing from them. The result is they make a fine set of protective carpet mats, colour coded, and genuine, too!

Great idea David,

My thoughts were of protecting the 'carpet' from getting dirty.
I have a set of car pet mats that Parks had already made on top of the carpet (same material).
But I wanted rubber, where you can get in on a rainy muddy day and not worry too much about the light beige colour..

Indeed the original Mercedes rubber mats were trimmed to fit anyway. It's a shame that they are not available any longer.

I purchased some generics from Repco and cut them down in much the same way as BenzBoy has suggested. The only problem was with the smell of the (almost bitumen) rubber for a few months afterwards.

Clark Rubber sell universal fit mats that can be trimmed to different sizes with a Stanley knife and a straight edge.
Regards,
Benz-Boy
I have fitted a boot rubber mat of the sort to an old Ponton and after trimming, it does fit well.
Alas, it has 'Clark Rubber' stamped in the middle...

....talk about heritage, tradition .......I don't like using rubber mats of any description as I think some patterns can mark the carpet underneath (the very item you're trying to protect), and I also worry about light coloured carpets becoming discoloured from poor quality rubber. I'll find you something Michel. Regards Styria

I'm with you, Styria. Rubber mats, whilst probably very practical, don't look particularly attractive. I also fear that they will mark and/or indent the carpet. Carpet over carpet is the way to go.

Well I use whilte cotton towels in the Spirit to keep the parchment Wilton clean. That way, I KNOW who has not wiped his/her feet.
Regards,
Benz-Boy

I wouldn't expect anything less.

It's a good point though. If you put rubber mats in you're almost inviting people to step in with all sorts of unimaginable debris on their feet.

Super Cheap Auto has a range of plastic mats that can be trimmed to size, it may be worth having a look at their stock.

Hi All,

I know this is an old thread but does anyone have a set of old Benz rubber floor mats for sale both front and back to fit a 450SE?

I see them in the odd car on carsales.com.au but they appear to be as rare as hens teeth?

Would I have better luck sourcing them in the UK?

Cheers.

Hi braminator 123, I have never seen "genuine" rubber mats for the rears and, as already remarked, from a personal point of view I stay clear of rubber mats. After market carpet mats are also becoming almost impossible to source - it is probably easiest nowadays to have some spare carpet sewn up and simply put on top of your existing genuine carpet. Importing mats from the UK is likely to cost an arm and a leg, given the cost of postage or freight nowadays. Regards Styria

N.B. We can make up carpet "protectors" for you.

I have original MB rubber mats in the 300SE they use to be in the 260E as well.

I was kindly given the 4 MB mats from a good Friend the mats were out of a 300E W124 from memory, double check?

I do have a spare front mat and a rear mat as well.

Front mat has a spilt in the R/H corner but nothing major and the mats are in good condition.

Maybe the mats might be use of to you Braminator123?

Mats do have the MB logo displayed in the center of the mats so I have no doubt they are genuine mats.

Cheers.

Just checked and I only have one front R/H MB mat it is out of a W201 Mercedes.

There is a split in the corner of the mat I wonder if the split could be repaired?

Would a W201 mat be suitable for a W116?

$100 for aftermarket mats.

Get the same style of mats at Super Cheap, Repco minus the MB logo.

Aldi has the same style of mats without the MB logo for $15 I have seen the mats and they look okay.
