I guess it must be excitement time, judging by the huge conglomeration of chiefs and journos as per picture. Will the new Maybach enjoy a more productive life and an extended life span when compared with its ill fated older sibling ? Only time will tell.
It will be competing head-on with the Rolls Royce and also the Bentley, two very formidable foes. Will the new Maybach's extended S-Class look alike cut it with the high browed British Superstars ? I do have some doubt. The last time, and only the second time I saw a Maybach in the flesh, was at a MB Club meeting held at Mercedes Benz Sydney headquarters in Alexandria. When you were close up, it was undeniably a colossal star - that was in a showroom, in other words a somewhat confined space. Under every day traffic situations, sure you'd see the car, but it would not stand out like, one could say, a Rolls Royce. So, let's hope that it is going to work this time. The initial improvement, and dangling carrot, lies in the price - a long way cheaper than the old Maybach. Regards Styria
