Stone Brothers Racing is no more and I have mixed feelings about a name change. One of the brothers (I can't remember which one) is moving onto other things (towards retirement) but they'll both have some say in the new V8 team.

Shane's gone into professional drifting and it looks like the new team will be called Erebus Racing. Personally I'd perfer Stone Erebus Racing (SER) but that's just me....

Fan reaction has been mixed but I'd say generally it's been good and positive. The masses and young ones may not be able to afford an E63 now, but everyone seems to forget the passage of time and the second-hand market. And that the A45 will be coming soon, which will be a far cheaper bang-for-buck.

Mercedes Benz should be watching closely because the series may prove to be a huge boost to their market share here (and even worldwide since the the V8s are going that way). I predict they'll be officially supporting the V8SCs before the end of the season. Perhaps even with a team of their own....

For the last few years I have found V8 supercars very boring and repetitive, season to season.

For this reason, I have been following F1 instead. However F1 for me, has shot itself in the foot, with the new formula calling for an engine capacity of 1.6 litres. They have been turned into glorified go karts!

The Korean Touring car series is formulated in the same way as the Aussie V8 Supercars, only they race 5 litre V8 Korean cars.

With advent of Mercedes and perhaps other V8 racing marques into the Australian touring car scene, my interest for 2013 will swtich to V8 Supercars.

Perhaps a V8 Kia or Hyundai could race in Australia in 2014! THAT could be interesting!

I'd like to see Audi and Chrysler. BMW would make it very interesting indeed. I'm not interested in a marque that doesn't actually make a V8 already.

F1 lost me ages ago. I hate the noise they make; they're just buzz boxes with wings! I say bring back the turbos and increase capacity to 3L. The best thing about F1 now is the AMG safety cars
