As it was in Melbourne, I did not go and see the lots myself, by my thoughts:

Lot 9: Jaguar XJ6 Series 1:
The pick of the XJ's in my view. This looked like an honest enough car and probably good buying for somebody:

Lot 11: 1964 220SE Coupe
These cars always sit on carsales for years at silly inflated prices, yet this price looks about normal for what they fetch at auction. The interior of this car is a bit tired, but its a manual 220 which is a nice spec in my view.

Lot 12: "modified' Citroen DS Pallas.
What a joke of a car. There are a number of very poor quality chapron recreations in Australia, but this one really takes the cake. And somebody paid $34,000 for this POS?

Lot 16: RR Silver Cloud II
This looked very nice. After market AC sticks out like a sore thumb and not well integrated, but it looked like quite a nice car at a reasonable price:

[Styria]

Judging by the photos, there certainly was much to like about the Rolls Royce Silver Cloud 2. Perhaps the boot area seemed to illustrate a certain amount of lack of care, but otherwise hard to fault. To my mind, a beautifully styled and elegant conveyance.

The Mercedes 220SE Coupe ? Really good value at the advertised sale price. The interior - sure enough, somewhat tired, and it is in that area where one can spend fairly large "bucks" to bring them up to satisfaction and pride of ownership. Incidentally, I have driven both 220SE and 300SE Coupes ( the later with Air Suspension) at length, and have found the 220 a much nicer car to drive - especially in the suspension behaviour.
