It is obviously great news for 6.9 owners - these are figures that one could previously only dream of. This car was a long way from perfect, and it would be easy to spend a few more thousand on it and,even then....

There is one aspect that I find fault with - how an auction house like shannons could be so badly astray in their sales estimate. To my mind, unforgivable. Regards. Styria

I think in this case understandable. They go from previous auction results and there has never been an auction sale of a 6.9 in Australia even close to this.

When opening up the Shannons website, they are showing a Milan Brown 6.9 having been sold in 2010. That car we had a lot to do with - new complete interior by Parks, new paint in original Milan Brown, and fitted with 15" Bundt wheels with new tyres. I believe that BenzBoy was one person to inspect the car- and what a quality car it was.

I guess in the end it doesn't really matter how deficient in accuracy the guiding range was - the sale price speaks volumes. It will be interesting to get a bit of a confidential run down by Helmet, seeing that he will see the car in the flesh in the near future. Regards. Styria

N.B. I doubt if this car can hold a candle to his Magnetite Blue 6.9.

Interestingly looked on carsales last night there are 2 6.9's listed for sale. Both don't look impressive but one @39000 the other @40000 . So they have noted auction result.

There's 2 on Gumtree ATM for $40k & $50k. Not sure if they're the same cars?

I'm wondering what the second highest bid was & whether there was a bidding war or the highest bidder just leap frogged everyone to ensure they won it?

Km were to low to be Kennets old car. I will post adds after work on the ones for sale. Think they are the same Mark. One looked ok the other not so much.

Kennetts car was Thistle Green not Silver Green, as I recall

The buyer may have seen the car during one of the viewings in the weeks prior. I have bought a car on shannons auction via internet, but I saw it the week before when I went to see the cars.
