Up Coming Shannons Auction

Hi guys there are some interesting cars coming up for auction in Melbourne at Shannons. If I were flush with cash and still in the possession of a huge warehouse, the 1965 Ford Mustang Convertible and the 1948 Citroen Light 15 Sedan would be my choices.

That 1961 Dodge Polara Coupe (LHD) looks great, especially without a reserve!

But in general the auction seems a little skinny.
They normally have around 5 pages

I think they are still adding lots they had 5 more added yesterday. Quiet a few don't have a reserve.

Yes but lots for sale has increased so they are still adding to auction. As I said Escort takes my fancy as its the same as my first car . Rose tinted glass's and all that.

Always felt the old Escorts were a bit of a dag (sorry Motec)

Yes they were but 2 litre was fun to drive. I would probably be horrified to drive one now though.

They were rear wheel drive, noisy and gutless mechanicals..

But very easy to increase performance from. But yes my fondness is the fact it was my first car given to me by an uncle. They were light years better than Gemini only Lancer was a better drive in cheap small cars at the time.

Gemini, Escort and Torana were seriously boring until Torana stared having V8s fitted.

Ok point taken Brian they have 2 Citroens at the auction . And a Fiat 500 wagon . If I had the money the panel delivery takes my eye.

If I was a "Sentimental Bloke " I'd fancy the Low Light Morris Minor. Nicely presented. Started my Apprenticeship on them in 1950. But then I saw the photo of the Engine.
Wrong Engine and Gearbox and possibly the rear axle as well. All probably from a Morris 1000. Hopefully the brakes were up graded to cope. The originals were marginal even with the little original S.V. ,though the torsion Front Suspension would be up to the job..............

Hi Sean yes I lost interest when I saw Side Valve was missing as that to me is the charm in the low light model. But seeing as it has no reserve it may go for a reasonable price.
