is this spur identical to MICHEL'S ROLLS??
for this prices i must consider AUSTRALIA for retirement and start taking lessons for RHD.

This is a 1981 RR Silver Spur.
The very early carbureted model.
My Queen of Sheba and Brian's Spirit are both series II, which are all injected and have a computerized active suspension.
Very different indeed and also very different market values.

Unfortunately market values for unloved and somewhat neglected former flagships have dropped through the floor simply because prospective buyers know how much it would cost to get them safe and roadworthy, let alone restore them totally.

A Camargue has a kind of novelty value but not too much more. Technically they are the same as a Shadow and were used as mobile test-beds for the improvements that flowed on to the Spirit. Each was hand constructed and no two are the same so parts prices can bight like a rottweiler and resale prices are low - especially in the US.
I have not yet seen one that is not full of rot - although this one may be OK. The best one I have seen belongs to a Club member who is truning it into a rat-rod. I am a purist and for me to say that rodding a Camargue is a good idea shows what I really think of them.
However, if a solid one came along with a low price I would probably grab it as they will go up in the future as most will be in the bin soon.

I can only concur with the Professor when it comes to the Camargue.
Just about the only two nice things with the Camargue are the 'name' and the fact it's a Rolls Royce.

Otherwise, it feels like a car of the late seventies/early eighties.
Too old to be new (modern) and too new to be an old car (classic)

Series II Shadows are a bit more advanced and much more desirable than Series I
