M117 Engine

As it says.... maybe need to ask if this was a Euro, and what the KM's were Ian?? Could be a worthy source of parts and split the cost?

Gosh at that price that engine and gearbox is tempting... esp. since half the hard work (removing it) is done. Got to have at least $450 worth of accessories on it...

Pretty sure its an aussie motor though what with the air pump below where the alternator would normally sit, and the air-feed piping into the exhaust ports for emissions duties.

If it was a M117 D-jet engine I'd pick it up in a second, as they are preferred engine for competition use, not the K-jet (as Jerry Seinfeld used to say) "not that there's anything wrong with that."

True that... the fact it's already sitting out ready to be 'paletted' and shipped is very appealing. Didn't think about looking for the air pump, if that's the case - no doubt it's aussie.

I think i'll try and haggle ol' mate for a collective price on both engine / box. See how it goes.

This motor and gearbox has been up on eBay a couple of times with much higher starting prices, also with the seller encouraging all prospective buyer to come and see the items running / test drive (they were still in the car at the time).

You wouldn't encourage that if the items were farked so I think its a pretty safe bet they will be alright.
