Hi Geoff, beautiful looking car, with some interesting features-maybe I should put that there are some question marks that could be part of the deal....and, BTW, I am looking for input and possible clarification from other TK bods.

It is obviously left hand drive, but the chassis number would suggest that this is, or was, a manual transmission car. If it still had the original M189 engine, it would be fabulously rare. Obviously, it no longer does, so one should look at the engine itself now fitted to the car. Is it a five litre engine, or simply the 450 unit. I can't tell, and there is no engine number quoted, so are there any clues that would enable verification that this is the 5 litre unit. I think the anthracite colour is very attractive, and suits the Coupe body style, and the interior leather is in fine looking condition. Those front head rests are extremely rare and, all in all, a very desirable car.

A couple of things curious. The owner certainly does not believe in having a tidy car as evidenced by the photos, and it is interesting that the car should just about be parked on top of the bushes located in the driveway. Strange. Regards. Styria

Without the original or at least correct engine and transmission it is simply a bastard made up out of the parts bin. It's quite different when you enhance your car such as Motec is doing and entirely another things when you change components to ones that are not appropriate - I'll bid $10,000.
Yes Styria, if people are going to sell their cars they should present them correctly - but so few do. Carsales now has a service where they will send a professional photographer to help you prepare the advert.

They're actually AMG-type wheels and not the real deal. Check out the location of the battery! LHD sucks and it'd be better with a 560.....

I didn't miss the colour of the battery, but missed the location. Of course, left hand drive necessitated the location of the battery where it is - that's on the proviso that not a lot of thought was to be put into that arrangement.

Additionally, just think of the location of the battery on a rhd 6.3 - not in the most ideal location either. Why they couldn't locate it in the boot as on both P5 (3 litre) and P6 3500 Rovers is obviously somewhat difficult to comprehend. Just what I think. Regards Styria

BTW, if located in the boot, they are supposed to have a longer service life.

N.B. Any thoughts on manual vs auto transmission - just look at the 10 in the chassis number.

Seeing as the engine and trans are changed and its LHD I would think conversion was done in the US or Europe before car made its way to Australia so any info on the chassis means diddly unless owner has original driveline which I highly doubt.

There's no way I'd have a battery that close to the engine and since they were already doing some big mods I'd have thought relocating it to the boot would've been a no-brainer... :confused:

I think its likely converted a long time ago in another country and imported that way as . Modern engineer certification would probably black flag the location. :eek:
