I Get to Drive my SEL 69L Again !

I bought my 6.9 on a whim in 1999.
I sold it on a whim for a small profit, to Mark Hertz (MB Club NSW Events Director), in 2014.

I told my daughter and boy, was she disappointed. She had it in mind to use it as a wedding car.
I HAD to borrow the car of him about a year later, to be used as she had intended, as wedding car. Mark saved my bacon!

Now, on an upcoming MBClub NSW mid week run (20th March 2019) to Bilpin, I get to drive it again! I am looking forward to it. Should be lotsa fun.

I will do that.
Actually I also have a truck licence. Used it to drive our Albion double deck bus. I was a one of the drivers who helped to drive it India to Italy. That was more than 40 years ago. The Albion was an antique, even then!

That would make a great story in its own right.
What model Albion was it?

Albion 1947, 4 speed crash gearbox. Engine and Chassis built in Glasgow (Scotland) - Australian body.
We bought it for $500 from the Tempe Depot in early 1969.

It was used on the Manly - Palm Beach Route, the top deck had been burnt in a fire, caused by a cigarette. That is why it was cheap to buy at the time.
We had to modify the inside to our accommodation needs, so the re building was necessary anyway.
