Wow, $37K.
I bought it on ebay back when it was an auction site for $1922, it was under a makeshift carport in Jilliby in the central coast hinterland. Parked next to a yurt. Towed it down to Seven Hills where it sat under the factory for years.
I sold it for $6k to 2 MBCNSW members who got it running over 3 or 4 weeks where it was then drove it away.
It's clearly had a lot of money spent on it but the body was super straight.
Original owner was a Drs wife from St Ives.

This is a 6.3 for sale on car sales with a chassis number that makes no sense to me. My understanding is that 6.3's had their own sequence, and so would always be less than the roughly 6500 cars they made.

But this car shows a data plate as below:

I would be curious as to what is stamped on the chassis, but I can't understand this.

The 018 stamp looks odd and the body plate is missing a fixing. Odd.

This 450SEL is a non runner, but has good paint and an average interior. will probably go very cheap:

BTW there's a Morris minor van on there that drove behind us the other day (presumably on way to lloyds). Sat nice on the road and the couple driving it didn't look stressed. Nice car.

This 1969 300SEL 6.3 is for sale from a former TK member, TJ450. It looks good at a distance, but the paint is in poor condition. Interior seats look like they have been retrimmed.

Its 180 silver grey with a black leather interior and has a period correct Becker Grand Prix radio.

The 1969 vented rear discs have been replaced with the later solid ones. It has a W108 fuel tank and a W108 front passengers door. engine has been rebuilt. Has serivice history in the book from 1969-1974.

From the Ad:

• the paintwork was reportedly refinished many years ago and now presents with areas of poor adhesion, blistering, minor surface rust, touched-up paintwork around the dent above the driver's side tail light, and small rust bubbles above the headlights. There are previous fibreglass repairs to the left-hand rear quarter and boot well area, and historic rust repairs to the doors. Areas around the sunroof have reportedly been repainted for preservation purposes.
• The interior features reupholstered seats, while the original carpet is heavily worn in the front. The dashboard has small cracks, and there is reported damage to sections of the wood trim around the windows.
• The air conditioning system is not currently operational.
• The cold-start circuit is disconnected due to a faulty thermo-time switch, requiring throttle input during cold starts.
• The heater and ventilation fan currently operates through a toggle switch and functions at one speed only.
• The accelerator linkage reportedly has wear in its ball joints, resulting in inconsistent air-fuel mixture control.
• The seller reports a shudder from the rear brakes when braking in reverse.
• The power windows can operate intermittently due to switch-related issues.
• The front right sealed-beam headlamp is not functioning.
• The rear air suspension levelling valve reportedly leaks down when parked, causing the vehicle to settle overnight.
• The most recent roadworthiness inspection was carried out on 28 August 2023, with the noted advisory that rear seat belts are not fitted.
• engine was rebuilt using replacement cylinder heads due to corrosion in the originals, together with custom pistons manufactured to original specifications.
• additional maintenance under current ownership has included an overhaul of the fuel injection pump, replacement fuel tank, refurbishment of the electric fuel pump, overhaul of the radiator and cooling system with a rebuilt water pump and re-cored radiator, replacement heater core, partial refurbishment of the front and rear axles, transmission fluid coupling resealing, brake refurbishment, and the fitment of new tyres in 2022.
