It's amazing that this car has now been in production for more than four years. Fair to say, it was an instant classic right from the start, and I don't think that anything has changed my view. Great styling in its own right, and I was privileged to see one, and hear it running, at last year's German Carfest organized by the MBCNSW in the carpark of the Canada Bay Club.

Talking of Audi, I used to own an S2 Quattro - see this for acceleration; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0xkPwqentZs
5 cylinder, turbo charged, 4wd, 6 speed Getrag manual, 3 radiators etc. Kept in Concours condition. The most I ever drove it to was 260 kph on a quiet road and after that 110 felt like I was still in 1st gear.
But one does grow older....

Hi BenzBoy, a few years ago now ? Those Audi Quattros were a sensation right from the very word go back in 1982 ? 1984 ? A heck of a lot of them wre involved in quite nasty accidents in the hands of the inexperienced. No matter how well a car handles, sooner or later the law of gravity takes over from technology. Did you actually enjoy ownership of the Audi, or did it fill you with frustration ?

Something quite sinister about those turbo charged five cylinders - see the yellow only Volvos (T5 ?), Ford Mondeo XR5 Turbo, same for Ford Focus, the 1992 Fiat that featured in one of my PDFs, later model Volvos, the Audis of course, and I am sure there are others as well. I'd imagine that cost of servicing and maintenance would always play a significant factor in owning one, or any, of those cars. Regards Styria

1995. The S2 was built by Porsche for Audi using the Audi components - a much better car than the UR Quattro and not frustrating to own.
