Another set of rims just had the rims resprayed that cost me well enough!

Buy another set of crappy rims repaint them if I could go through all that again.


Spare rim in the boot is not to bad I will give the inside of the rim a good clean up before the Concours.

Didn't you get 5 wheels painted Tim? The spare should look like new for Concours!

My point was to not paint the second set to save your good set for concourse. And drive on the cheap set.

Only 4 wheels were painted.

Spare does not look like new but it is in good condition the wheel has been repainted before in the past.

Four wheels to be professionally painted including the fine crushed glass blasting was just over $2,000.

And that Tim is why Michel though it was a good idea when I suggested another set . So the good set is saved for when you show the car.

OK - well make sure your spare is clean and polished and the tyre scrubbed and painted with something like Autoglym Tyre Finish (or similar). The aim of a Concours is to find the car that is the closest to how it left the factory. Thus the spare will be examined.

Thanks Brian I will do very best to have the spare looking tip top.

Hence use your Toyo and find other rims for daily use I am keeping my standard rims with AMG wheels for shows and club runs.

A full set of 15" alloys are not expensive. Or you could get 15" steel wheels which would be cheaper again for everyday use...

Motec are you planning to do the shopping in your 6.9?

No after paint job is done that is a definite no. But I think it is a good idea for Tim seeing as he is into concourse events with his car.
