Mac OS is brilliant and id never argue the point, it is as close to running Unix (The genesis of both Windows and MacOS) with a graphic user interface (GUI) as you can get and everything is faster and cleaner on a Mac no doubt about it.
But Macbooks and Macs in general have their issues, Macbooks are fragile, hinges and cases damage way too often and their battery life is still short of what it could be because Apple over spec everything especially as they now run Intel chipsets (They have to).
Its a bit like dropping a Detroit 8V92TT into a 450SEL incase some day in the future someone somewhere wants to tow a house somewhere, Sure the car has lousy economy (3 litres per kilometre) but you can tow a HOUSE!
They are also still too damned expensive apart from the MiniMac which although ok is still limited to surfing the net and playing multimedia.
The great things about Mac's are that they are peerless when it comes to anything graphics or sound oriented and always will be, their processing power when it comes to real crunching is phenomenal from simple things like home video editing to composing and mixing music both of which I do on my ancient eMac faster and better than on my current quad core/4 gig windows notebook.
The hang up with Mac is its unfamiliarity, the consumers fear of new things has kept them away from Macs for years which is a shame because its very intuitive and Mac's are ready to run out of the box, Unpack it and plug it in and yer right to go.
I have a unique insight when it comes to comparisons though because I've dealt with Apple and IBM clones (PC's) side by side in large numbers both in corporate and educational institutions AND im not a Mac Guru nor a PC fanatic because when it comes to writing a service level agreement for a corporate to decide how much the next maintenance contract is worth honesty IS the best policy lol
What I am waiting for it to see how the Android books develop, the unit Im testing currently is on as soon as you open the lid and by the time the lid is fully open the Android logo has disappeared and your desktop is showing, quickly click on an item and before you count "One Onethousand" the App is up, Internet browsing thru Google Chrome browesr is also instant even with sites heavy with crap you have never been to.
Basically click and its there.... Scary clever Mr Google.
