Rolls royce concours - 2011

It was nice to meet up with fellow topklasse members SEL69L, Michel, CraigS and of course, BenzBoy, now president of the Rolls Royce Owners Club. There were, as per usual, some very desirable cars on display, and my favourite was this Rolls Royce Convertible, with the 'Chinese' twin headlight arrangement - very rare, and desirable. Okay, before I TRY and go on with this thread, Norton Security installed itself on my computer - for the first time in eight years, and it took all my guile and effort to uninstall it. Anyway, that's by the by. Now, those Rolls Royce pictures......

This one was just pure magic - a beautiful modern "RED' - maybe not original but who cares....

It is just as well we all have different tastes - I was commenting to Michel that the Chinese eye headlight car was probably my least favourite - I don't care how desirable they are.

Michel's Spur was immaculate from all angles. I like the fact that it is understated and restrained. Nothing brash about it at all; just good taste.
The very rare Bird's Eye Maple interior is delightfully light and airy. It's a nice car Michel and drew the eye of many people.

The Phantom, the "less flamboyant" one, is a rare Weymann-style boat tail quite capable of cruising at 100 mph. It's a very desirable car for a driver.

Thank you for posting the photos - I planned to go along but my plans were folied by a flat tyre en route. In any case, I did manage to see the Porsche Concours at Newington Armoury and BMW Display at Silverwater Park that were also on yesterday.

The colour is fine (I like brown). The price is on the wild side.....
For that you could buy a Phantom and have a real car.

$179,000 for the Corniche sure is on the 'wild side' Brian.

But I guess the Rolls is a convertible bound the fetch a few more $?
