It's been on before and is always fun. My comment is still the same; compare like with like. To be accurate, it should compare the Grosser to the Phantom. Still, the producers were probably unaware of their error.

Hi BenzBoy, I sort of suspected that the videos had been on TK before, but wasn't sure. Anyway, all this is part of a slight re-vamp and re-classification of threads and some posts. In any event, I needed some light hearted humour, and these videos more than adequately filled the bill. I am sure that most will appreciate the humorous side of the videos........besides, somebody ought to look at the young lady sitting behind the presenter in one of the videos - quite stunning , but also vert pretty.

Getting back to the cars - that 600 - what a magnificent carriage, and gorgeous colour to boot ! I have some understanding of the service bill for the Mercedes. Regards Styria

The colours of the Top Gear cars are fabulous.

Why is it that all modern Merc's are finished in black, near to black or occasional silver. Why is it that they can't come with standard colours of a nice red or green (as these are), or blue?

All other manufacturers seem to be falling into the same trap.

I know we are getting off track but what the heckkkk... we've done it before.
Most MB cars are ordered by the dealer and in what is considered to be be non-offensive colurs; that is, safe ones that will sell. Very few people actually make their own selection and order. When we ordered the CLK we specified trim combinations that delayed the car by 3 months as theywere not run of the mill for Australia and all that involved was fitting electric blinds, different wood colour and a cream interior with a silver exterior - and a few mechanical bits such as active headlights etc that are now mostly standard. The real problem was that the dealer did not want to order Cubanite Silver with Pebble interior as he claimed most people want a black interior. However, the person with the cheque book is king.
God help you if you wanted to order a red car! We tried to order a CLK in manual and the dealer wanted a $20,000 deposit on the grounds that if the deal fell through they would have trouble selling the car. Oh really? Car dealers are sometimes lacking in imagination and want only to play safe.
As for me, I never want to see a sewerage grey interior again in my life.
Now when you get to Jaguar the story is similar. The traditional cream, tan or red interior has clearly submitted to treatment by the Bondi Outfall. Grey rules.
