You can see that the rear window wouldn't go down so it would be fairly pointless converson, other than the visual impact. On a real coupe you have to be able to wind all the windows down and get that pillarless look happening, something I never understood about the new Monaro's,

Well, the biggest problem for a coupe is rigidity.
Once you remove the (floor to roof) pillar then you lose a lot of rigidity and thus it will cost the car company much more to stiffen up the body and have a pillarless look.

If I'm not mistaken there were actually two 'Nallinger' coupés, one survived, in glorious beauty and the other was scrapped. The Middlehauve version was created to be a more coupé sized car as the original was almost as monumental as the standard saloon. I belive Middlehauve's coupé got Paul Bracq's approval as did El Benzo!

I can see the Sultan of Brunei ordering one, with a modern M120 V12 neatly placed under the hood. I think it looks awesome, still all Benz but with a neat twist.
