hood Pad 107

Searching the Net for an insulation Pad for under the Bonnet of my '81 280 SL 107, I am starting to think that the cars with the 110 6 cyl engines were never fitted with one. Nowhere near the heat from a V8 perhaps. I can't see any evidence of one having been under the Bonnet. ? ? ?.....Sean

I don't believe they were fitted for heat issues; it was more about keeping them quiet inside and out. I think they're actually called a noise insulating pad

Well in that case the 110 engines are not the quietest that were fitted to 107s. Their overhead gear has that reputation. Fortunately with my aged Hearing it's not a problem !......Sean

You should be able to get one anyway, whether it's for a 280/350/450 or 500SL/C.
They should be all sharing the same bonnet (and insulation pad)
