This looks like a pretty good buy:

. Documented history dating back to the original owner when delivered new in WA. Comes with books and service history .

Also comes with confirmation in 1988 @162,500 the engine was rebuilt at a cost of $28, 478 . That's more than we are asking for the car !!!


Do I envisage a road trip for Michel once borders are open?

I seriously would love to.
However garaging is a problem for me (and I really like my cars nearby, where I can hop in at any notice and drive).
However, I do have something else on the boil and if it happens, you'll be all notified :D :D

We are getting close, however I am A SSI lover, not II unfortunately.

Chrome bumper bars & old school electrics and dash for me.

The yellow is super nice though.

We are getting close, however I am A SSI lover, not II unfortunately.

Chrome bumper bars & old school electrics and dash for me.

The yellow is super nice though.

If Patrick gets a nice shadow I, and Michel buys the yellow shadow II then along with Brian’s car we could have quite a nice RR line up at the next GTG.

A first series SS wallows like a marshmallow. You need the very end of the first series when the suspension was tightened up or add a handling kit.

That's one of the reasons I will look at an SSII rather than a series one, as it has better steering, braking and handling.
I would have preferred the chrome bumpers, but I can live with the energy-absorbing bumpers.

Not sure about that after market kit.

I was talking about the fact that the SSII was upgraded from the factory with rack and pinion steering and modifications to the front suspension.

Yes but that does not come as an aftermarket kit.
The Shadow II is a far better proposition even though it still handles like a wet sponge.

I liked the wallowing and Queen Mary like steering.
The ride was a bonus about this car, it just soaked up everything.
That’s what the designers intended.

You actually get quite used to it.
When you do, you know where and when to set it up for the particular bend or corner.

People who were not used to them, or who had only one or two turns behind the wheel were frightened by them.

That being said, it had one of the best turning circles in any car I have ever owned.

I’ve never driven one with the handling kit installed, but some of the chaps I have spoken to who have, said the ride became quite harsh, but handled better.

For me, the ride in this car was one of the reasons I bought it.
Handling, well, that’s not what I bought it for :D
