Well it is logic, can anyone out there give me ONE good reason for the existence of the Prius?
I could do with a laugh!
Columbia Electric made a "hybrid" in 1907.
It had a 'gasoline' motor, which was only used as a generator to charge the batteries which drove the four electric motors, one at each wheel.
Simple huh?
But it did not catch on, probably bad timing as much as anything, and then there was that Honda coupe in L.A.
There are still few there, but wasn't there a deal where the city was supposed to supply charging points for the cars?
And fed by electricity from a far-away power station (so they were not contributing to L.A's smog problem, make it someone else's problem), except that didn't really catch on.
You still see the Hondas around L.A. though, so someone is charging them.
Quite a cute design too, take note Prius, it was electric, 'green' AND a good design.
